I am an experienced personal tutor used to working with adults and children of all levels. I have worked with children with special needs and learning difficulties, children and adults seeking to improve their general English skills, and those wishing to learn English as a second language. I am patient and diligent in my approach to teaching and will provide carefully prepared lessons and tasks according to each student's individual needs.

I believe that everyone is of value and has a purpose in life. I have come to believe that my value lies in my ability to teach and assist others in a supportive capacity. During my 24 years of teaching, I have grown both as a person and as an educator. My passion in life is to not just engage myself with the teaching of subject matter, but also work with the many facets of the human being I am teaching.

I am a firm believer in a holistic approach to education. A good teacher, in my opinion, never forgets what it is like to be a learner – vulnerable, anxious and dependant.

I work by an initial consultation with the student (and parent if requested) to establish the aim of the tutoring sessions.

Together, we will identify specific areas of the course that require attention, and also take the opportunity to decide if we are both happy with the other's expectations of the sessions.

Following this, we will build a clear outline of the study plan within the given timeframe to cover all required material, and build in problem-solving sessions in order to prepare for examinations.
